High Society

After having a mid morning coffee at Café de Flore (great for people watching besides the tourist crowds), we walked to nearby restaurant La Société. It is right across the street from the Church of Saint Germain, and it is owned by the Costes family (yes, the brothers that opened a dozen or so of restaurants all over Paris).

It was designed by our hero Christian Liaigre, who created an amazing interior. Sort of contemporary french-asian with his signature touch of leather and mahogany furniture. A few sculptures give the place a cool artistic feeling.

It is a great place to be surrounded by beautiful people, of course, plus the food is good (maybe not your gourmet meal if you are into it...but still good). A relaxed lunch in one of the most beautiful neighbourhoods in Paris (shrimp risotto was really good!).

  1. i went to this cafe in may. miss paris. :( p.s. your barney shots indicate that you were in my vicinity. the shot of the lady in the pink coat..i was looking down at her at that moment and thinking...this would make a great pic...eery.

  2. Dear Faire: Paris is a place to be missed indeed! This restaurant is lovely.

The lady in the pink coat was picture-perfect. Maybe we were standing next to each other! Who knows...

  3. Thanks for the kind words. Enjoy your work as well.

  4. Dear Joe: Thanks! Your pictures are extremely nice.

  5. So yesterday you were in Buenos Aires and today you are in Paris!!!!
    Great post!

  6. Love your blog, Chukker. It is so worldly and sophisticated! I went to BA four years ago (and Punta). We stayed in the Four Seasons. Due to a disturbance in the next room, we were moved to the only other available room that they had -- the President's Suite in the Mansion! Fantastic experience. The next time I go, I will have to write you or check your blog for the best places. Also, thanks for your comments on my blog. It takes time to do, so I appreciate it everytime you make them.

  7. Dear Greet: We like to travel a lot!

  8. Dear Photodiarist: Thanks for your kind words. The Mansion of the Four Seasons is quite a place! Madonna stayed there a few years back, so you did well...
And your blog is truly inspirational (maybe spiritual is a more appropiate word).
