After having brunch at Oui Oui (our favorite restaurant in the area) we walked down the charming streets of Palermo Viejo in Buenos Aires and watched the world go by.
This neighbourhood has been transformed (in the past 15 years or so) from working-class residential into a hip area full of restaurants, bars, boutiques and hotels.

Despite the transformation most of the buildings are original, one or two stories high. There are lots of trees, and blue sky unlike anywhere else.
During our walk we stumbled upon Jardin Escondido (Francis Coppola's house). A romantic place, seven rooms, patios, pergolas, plants... Mr Coppola lets people stay there when he is not in Buenos Aires. Inside it is like stepping back in time, to a slower time, in which life was enjoyed around a communal table in the garden, with family and friends...with plenty of food and wine.
Keep this place in mind next time you are heading South.
